Wedding Pet Attendant

Can’t picture yourself saying “I Do” without your fur baby standing beside you on your big day? Here at I Do and Fido Too, LLC we understand the importance of having all your loved ones with you at such an important time. Our wedding pet attendant will chauffeur your pet to and from the venue and assist them before, during and after your event. Choose from one of our three packages. We require two walks prior to the event to better develop a relationship with your pet for their ultimate comfort.

What We Offer

I Do and Fido Too

I am a mother to two boys, and three rescue dogs, and I was just recently married to my best friend. My only regret about my wedding day is that our dogs were not able to be a part of our special day because we did not have anyone, we trusted that could tend to our pets that were not already in the wedding. After doing a little research I realized wedding pet attendants are a real thing, just not offered around the Tri-Cities.

Things to Consider When Including Your Pet

Let your friends and family enjoy the festivities while I tend to your pets needs and assist them in their assigned roles. Your pet will be safe and well-cared for the entire time.

Not all venues allow pets. Make sure to contact your chosen venue to make sure they are pet friendly. I can supply a list of venues that are pet friendly upon request.

Many people are severely allergic to dogs or are fearful of them. A warning will help them prepare. It is also best to inform your officiant as well.

Flower pup, pup of honor, ring or sign bearer, engagement photos? The list goes on.
Please keep in mind that receptions can get loud and it may be overwhelming for your pet. Cocktail hour is a good time for your pet to mingle and greet your guests before saying their goodbye for the evening.

If your pet does not respond well in social situations or distractions cause him to forget his manners, it may be best to keep him at home. Please keep this in mind when choosing a role for them. Our goal is to always set them up for success.

Practice as often as you can before the event. Allow 2-3 required walks with the attendant. Include your pet in the rehearsal. The more they practice the more comfortable they will be at your wedding. It is best if your dog(s) visit the site before the wedding day. It will give them the chance to explore and get to know the area before the big day.

Make sure they are familiar and comfortable around pets. Additional time may be suggested. It is advised to break photo session into two sessions when pets are involved. The first session with just the couple and then the second session have an attendant bring your pet(s) to the location. This way you will not chance getting dirty or messing your hair.

Don’t involve your pet in your wedding if it is going to introduce unnecessary stress for you. There are many other ways to include your pet in your special day. Name a cocktail after them, for example, or incorporate their photo into décor elements. I would be happy to offer many more suggestions if desired.

Consider dressing your pet in a bow tie, floral collar, dress, or tuxedo. There are so many adorable options. Make sure that your pet is comfortable and their clothing fits correctly.

It is recommended that your pet goes to the groomer at least 24 hours before the event to help prevent your pet from becoming too overwhelmed.

It is a good idea to have a person picked out that can step in for your pet if your pet decides they are not up for the role. Pets can be unpredictable.
